“At Formby Golf Club, we use a range of Barenbrug UK seed, predominantly Fescue on Greens, SGT Fine Fescue on Fairways and Surrounds, and Ultrafine blends on Tees.

 

• We use Barenbrug Fescue on our greens to aid us in producing a more sustainable links surface, which is less reliant on inputs for turf health. We always see a great strike rate with Barenbrug Fescue, helping us future proof the putting surfaces at Formby Golf Club. 

 

• With Barenbrug's SGT Fine Fescue we know we are getting a mix that will stand up to drought and provide us with the best chance of turf cover following prolonged challenging conditions. We overseed this mix into Fairways and Surrounds to provide a more sustainable surface and a true links experience.

 

• The Barenbrug Ultrafine range gives us plenty of options to change the percentage of dwarf rye in our Tees overseeding and divotting practices, whilst providing the fine leaf aesthetics you expect on a links golf course. We opt for Ultrafine 30 on Tees during the warmer months, and UF60 for a higher percentage of rye through the colder months, both of which provide excellent recovery and performance.”
