Barpersie is a new cultivar to Ultrafine products, introduced in 2024, with an enticing combination of wear tolerance, shoot density, visual merit and leaf fineness.With scores of 8.7 for visual merit and 8.8 for shoot density, it is unmatched. Its very slow regrowth score backs up its proven performance under wear (ranked #10 on Table S1) - this variety builds on ULTRAFINE 100's undoubted reputation as the outstanding summer sports ryegrass blend.
Barolympic is the market-leading cultivar ryegrass for summer sports use. It is ranked with a score of 8.6 in Table G4 of Turfgrass Seed 2025, the highest mean score in the entire publication, and comfortably above the next best variety in this close-mown test.
Barpersie is a new variety with similar traits to Barolympic. Its inclusion as a ‘new cultivar’ in table L1 in Turfgrass Seed 2023 features top-ranking for both shoot density and visual merit.
